Expectations of the Role
The pastor of FBC Lincoln must meet the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7. According to our Constitution and Bylaws, the pastor's responsibilities include preaching, teaching, pastoral counseling, administration, planning, and leading the church to fulfill its mission.
The pastor shall lead all church organizations and committees in worship, proclamation, education, and evangelism, and serve as the moderator of all business meetings. He must be doctrinally aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and committed to the life and mission of the church.
The pastor will work closely with the Deacon Body to provide spiritual leadership, care for the congregation, and uphold biblical discipline and unity within the church. Together, they serve the church family and support its ministries with wisdom, prayer, and integrity.
Our Doctrine
FBC Lincoln affirms the spirit of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We hold Scripture as our ultimate authority in faith and practice and believe in one triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
We affirm the ordinances of believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, and we believe in the autonomy of the local church under the Lordship of Christ.
